Process to Outreach/Onboard Programs and Providers
Kern Early Stars, in partnership with Consortium members, will identify potential participants and provide information on the benefits of participation. A designated Kern Early Stars staff member will schedule an initial meeting with potential participants to discuss the benefits, opportunities, and requirements of participation. Kern Early Stars staff will actively engage sites in determining the training, coaching, and technical assistance needed to help them in the development of a quality improvement plan. Interested providers can complete the KES Interest Form.
Quality Improvement Program Support Strategies
Participating educators receive professional development opportunities and work with a coach that guides their journey. Together they set goals that strengthen quality teaching practices and support the early education of Kern County children.
Local Approach to Offering Financial Incentives and Stipends
Incentives include personalized coaching, access to numerous community resources and networking opportunities, and a variety of high-quality training opportunities. Financial stipends are offered to California State Preschool Programs that complete the rating process, with the stipend amount dependent on the tier level achieved.
