The California Department of Social Services, Child Care and Development Division, is excited to announce the upcoming Beginning Together Institute for Inclusion Facilitators beginning in March 2025. This Institute will host Training-of-Trainers virtual sessions offered as a combination of synchronous and asynchronous activities on Thursday afternoons.
- Beginning Together Institute for Inclusion Facilitators is designed for those who train early childhood staff, including child care providers, educators teachers, and assistants on the benefits and basics of inclusive practice.
- Synchronous meetings/trainings will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the following Thursdays: March 6, 13, 20, 27, and April 3, 2025.
- Additional online activities, requiring between 2-4 hours each week, will be offered to complete on your own timeline.
The Institute is designed to support counties and/or regions’ small teams of trainers with expertise and experience in fostering inclusive practice. Participants will be provided with the tools and resources needed to boost teacher’s confidence and competence in inclusive practices for ALL young children.
The Institute will include a framework to guide communities in developing a solid plan for increasing inclusive options for children ages birth to five.
Participants will have the opportunity to earn an Inclusion Facilitator Certificate enabling them to provide future training and/or facilitation in their community.
The cost of the Institute is $300 per person, which includes materials.
Now accepting applications. Applicants will be screened and accepted with attention to geographic representation and commitment to training.
Teams are encouraged to:
- Include general early childhood administrators and educators, special education administrators and educators, early intervention specialists, family support staff, trainers, and coaches.
- Identify one person to act as the team coordinator.
