County Program Profile: Del Norte

The QCC County Program Profile provides county data from the Common Data File (CDF) and the Annual Progress Report (APR). For counties that are a part of a consortium, the QCC County Program Profile provides a combined view of the CDF and APR. Both qualitative and quantitative data are presented to provide a local view of early learning and care climate.

QRIS :: Del Norte County Office of Education

Del Norte County’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), Quality Counts Del Norte (DN), serves programs in Del Norte County and the Tribal lands within the county’s borders. Quality Counts DN has been active since 2016 and is the first QRIS project in the county. We rate all CSPP sites. We have 4 of them with 6 sessions. Our focus is to increase positive interactions through trainings and coaching. We provide access to training and resources in the following categories: Developmental and Health Screenings; School Readiness; Social-Emotional Development; Health, Nutrition, and Physical Activity; Effective Teacher-Child Interactions; and Family Engagement. Programs enrolled in Quality Counts DN are eligible to participate in training opportunities, receive cash and resource incentives, and may receive coaching.

Testimonial

The Quality Counts program has helped our center Little School of the Redwoods in many ways. One of the main ways it has helped us is from the knowledge, and support our center staff has received to more efficiently and effectively work with young children. We have learned various skills to be successful early childhood educators. We are very thankful for the support in our classrooms, and the resources to create more successful classrooms.

Jessica Darrow, Early Learning Educator

Success Story

The QCC program has been wonderful in giving usable ideas to connect with families. There have been ideas that I as a provider can use in my daycare setting as well as parents using in their homes. It would be great if all providers would use this program!
