QRIS :: Early Quality Matters
High-quality early childhood education lays a strong foundation for school readiness and lifelong success. Early Quality Matters is Placer County’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), designed to strengthen the full range of early learning environments, including licensed early care and education programs, family child care homes (FCCs), and informal caregivers.
Rooted in Quality Counts California’s (QCC) established standards of excellence, Early Quality Matters offers providers a variety of supports such as individualized coaching, peer mentoring, professional development opportunities and financial incentives to help them enhance their practices and achieve higher levels of quality.
The program’s ultimate goal is to raise the quality of early learning experiences throughout Placer County and to ensure families have access to high-quality programs that foster children’s growth and success.

Testimonial
“The Early Quality Matters (EQM) program has enabled me to create the environment I had always envisioned and the program I always dreamed of. It has provided much needed equipment that I would have never been able to get if it was not for EQM. The program has also provided me with a wealth of valuable classes and trainings, making me a better and much stronger provider/teacher for the children in my program. Most importantly, the staff has supported me and believed in me and challenged me to believe in myself and my program. I see this program as a gift and I cannot say Thank You enough and I will be forever grateful.”
