Technical Requirements and Recommendations

E-learning Units

Browsers

  • Windows: Edge (latest version), Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version)
  • Mac: Safari (latest version), Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version)
  • Mobile: Safari in Apple iOS 10 or later, Chrome in Apple iOS 10 or later, Chrome in Android OS 4.4 or later

Additional System Recommendations

  • Javascript must be enabled.
  • Delete temporary files and cache.

Problems?

If you are having trouble loading or viewing the education, here are some general tips for improving the streaming of audio, video, and practice scenario content:

  • Make sure you are not downloading items while taking these units.
  • Close programs you are not currently using.
  • Temporarily disconnect other devices (computers or phones) that are connected to the internet and that are not currently being used.
  • Close any open browser windows or tabs that are not being used.
  • Access learning during a time of day when fewer people are online.
  • Confirm you are using the most recent version of the browser.

Practice Simulations

There are two digital versions of practice scenarios: a simplified version and an enhanced version.

Use the simplified digital version if:

  • You are using a screen reader to access the simulation
  • Your computer is not able to load the enhanced version or the scenario freezes
  • Your mobile device is not able to load the enhanced version or the scenario freezes

Use the enhanced digital version if:

  • You have an up-to-date computer that meets the following technology requirements and does not use a screen reader.
  • Please note that you may need to rotate your handheld device to view horizontally for the simulation to load

Computer Operating Systems

  • Windows: Latest minor version of Windows Vista – Windows 10
  • Mac: Latest minor version of OSX 10.9 + (Note: When launching in Safari, OSX version 10.13 + is required.)

  • Windows: Edge (latest version, 64 bit recommended), Chrome (latest version, 64 bit recommended), Firefox (latest version, 64 bit recommended), Opera (latest version, 64 bit recommended)
  • Mac: Safari (latest version), Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version), Opera (latest version)

Additional System Recommendations

  • Javascript and cookies must be enabled.
  • Delete temporary files and cache.
  • 2GB of RAM
  • Video card: Mac -3D Capable Video with at least 256MB of RAM and OpenGL 2.0 support, PC-3D Capable Video with at least 256MB of RAM and DX9.0c (shader model 3.0) support

Mobile Device System Requirements

In order to access practice scenarios on an iOS or Android device you will need:

  • An internet connection (Broadband recommended)
  • Google Chrome for Android devices
  • Safari for iOS devices

Supported iOS Devices Include:

  • iPad Air 2 or later
  • iPad Mini 4 or later
  • iPad Pro
  • iPad 5th Generation or later
  • iPhone 6S or later

Note: Apple iOS devices require iOS version 12.2 or later.

Supported Android Devices Include:

  • Any device running version 6 or later with at least 2GB of RAM
