The California Department of Social Services (CDSS), in partnership with WestEd, is excited to announce the release of California Guidelines for Child Care in Home Settings. This extensively revised edition, an update to the previous Guidelines for Early Learning in Child Care Home Settings, provides actionable, practical guidance for delivering high-quality care.
Designed for licensed family child care providers as well as family, friend, and neighbor caregivers who provide care for children from infancy through school age, the guidelines highlight evidence-informed best practices while reflecting the voices and experiences of California’s child care providers in home settings.
