Thanks to First 5 Imperial, I have strengthened my commitment to providing a warm, safe, and enriching environment for young children. F5I believed in me even when I still doubted my abilities. They have been a key part of this dream that has slowly become a reality.

Family Child Care Provider

Success Story

In March 2024, in the small town of Imperial, California, I made one of the most important and courageous decisions of my life: obtaining my license to open a family child care center. I had no previous professional experience working with children, beyond what I had learned raising my two daughters. However, I was very excited to start my own business with a very clear purpose: to support my daughter through college and help my husband with household expenses.

From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to offer something different in the field of child care: a place where children would feel at home, surrounded by love, attention, and understanding. I knew that many parents couldn’t offer all that during the day because of their work responsibilities, and I wanted to be the support they needed. Today, one year later, I have a full license and am waiting for my associate teacher permit. I currently have eight children in my care and work with most programs, including ICOE, RCOE, and CALWORKS.

Every child who has passed through my center has left a mark on my heart. The positive comments from parents about how they have seen changes in their children fill me with satisfaction. It is beautiful to see how each one is blossoming individually.
