California Early Childhood Online

California Early Childhood Online (CECO) is an online learning portal that provides free access to professional learning in one centralized location. Modules are designed for early learning and care professionals in all roles and all settings and include topics such as trauma-informed care and practices, dual language learning, creating brave spaces, and health and safety. Certificates of completion are available for each module.

The Stronger Starts website was developed by First 5 California to provide parents and families with resources about toxic stress. Learn about toxic stress, what causes it, and how it can affect children. On this website you will also find parenting tips to keep your home free of toxic stress, as well as additional resources and support.

Professional Learning Opportunity

Safe Spaces: Foundations of Trauma-Informed Practice for Educational & Care Settings

This free training developed by the Office of the California Surgeon General is intended for early care providers, TK-12 educators, and other school personnel who recognize and respond to trauma and stress in children. The training consists of two-hour modules for individuals who work with ages 0-5, 5-11, and 12-18, and is available in English and Spanish.
